A typical working day
at CSC SA 16 – sub team 1 (GEP)
By Martin Gerhardt
Today I picked a
normal business day of our CSC engagement. So let me just capture, how such a “normal”
day looks like.
In the morning, after
breakfast on a terrace with a very nice garden, we get picked up at 8:20am for
transfer to our office location in Joburg.
Breakfast at the
hotel.
The drive is not the
nicest one, commercial areas with lots of traffic jams. It is always a guess,
how traffic allows us to be there in time, since there are sometimes
unpredictable events like for instance student protests.
Our drive to Joburg, along
nice blooming jacaranda trees …
… approaching the downtown area of Joburg.
At our office
building, we first have to pass security. It is equipped with newest
technologies of finger scanning, which until now is not working for us. So we
just use simple temporarily plastic cards to pass.
Now we can get
started. Our major challenge is to get all the meetings scheduled with so many
different stakeholders and sponsors. But all people at GEP are very helpful and
our case is developing properly, especially since we got today also support
from Beata from DOT.
And sometimes we find
time to take a view out of our office window to downtown Joburg.
After a full working
day we get transferred back to our hotel (here together with sub team 3).
Ready for dinner with
the whole team. By the international mixture of our whole CSC team we try every
evening something new. This time Jalpa organized an Indian dinner – having fun
together and sharing our experiences of the day.
We are ready to start
again tomorrow for a new exciting day.
Martin
