What Kryptonite is to Superman, Cheese is to Teng..Who documents ALL of Monday's Events

Oct 17th, Monday morning, we were on the shuttle to the client offices, ready to go....

We were stuck on the road, there was a heavy traffic congestion, what happened?
The driver decided to change and go another route.
Later we found out that the traffic jam was caused by the students protests around WITS University, and the students were using fire extinguisher to put out the fire on the road.

On the road side, there are many “S” signs in strike-through type (looks like a dollar sign?) not commonly seen in some other countries, which means “non stop” even for a short time.

And we drove through Nelson Mandela bridge, below is the Johannesburg train station, one of the largest public transportation centers in Gauteng province.
We arrived at Sci-Bono Discovery Centre on time, and there was a group of students in the queue waiting for the visit, can we join as well? :-)

Unfortunately, an important meeting at 10:00am was cancelled by the client, so we had to re-plan our activities. Later we got the confirmation to attend the meeting in another office of Gauteng Department of Education, discussing something related to project plan. Actually it turned out to be a conversation about school teachers and students research, however it was quite helpful to understand the current situation in schools.

After one day’s work, we were waiting for pick up.

The vehicle license plate here usually ends with “GP”, which means Gauteng Province, and similar in other provinces.

The undulating terrain is one of the characteristics in Johannesburg, which means you need good driving skills if you don’t prefer the public transporation.

On our way back to hotel, a man on the roadside didn’t get any money after a "voluntary" quick car windshield wash..he left with disappointed face.

The Houghton Masjid is an attractive building on the daily way back.

In the evening, we visited the Nelson Mandela square nearby the Hotel, where you may find a lot of restaurants and shopping stores, and also see a six meter high statue of Mandela.

For dinner we shared Indian food ordered by Jalpa who is fom India.  The menu included: butter chicken, chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Korma, Palak Paneer, Gobi Muttar, Lamb Vindaloo, Naan, Roti… Everyone enjoyed the food.
